ANSI Art @ 20 GOTO 10

San Francisco’s tiny gallery space 20 GOTO 10 just opened its ANSI art exhibit last night.

Overhead shot of the tiny gallery, packed full of people.

Close-up shots of some of the pieces on display.

Above two shots taken with my crappy iPhone camera.

I had no idea what ANSI art was going into it since I was a bit young for the BBS scene (AOL was my first internet experience) but the huge limitations on the medium make it interesting. The images, painstakingly typed out in a text editor, are limited to 256 characters, 16 foreground colors and 8 background colors. More info here.
