(Edit: I’ve decided that redesigning the blog will take a while, and there are things I want to write in the meantime. So I am in fact not putting this on hold.)
Blogger is simply not cutting it for me anymore and I’m putting this thing on hold until I get a new publishing program. This will also force me to finally fit the blog into the general look and feel of the rest of my site now as well, so that’s coming next. What kills Blogger for me is that when I update the template, it doesn’t update it for older entries. For example, click on one of my older posts and you’ll notice my current picks in the sidebar are no longer there. So, every single time I change what I’m currently playing, or otherwise alter the template, I have to manually edit all my entries if I want consistency. I’d still recommend Blogger to someone who doesn’t have experience building websites or who doesn’t have sophisticated needs, but personally I could really use some more control.

It’s bad form to rewrite existing code, but I find the best programs are the ones I customize for myself.
