For a long, long time, when a new customer joined Arena PLM, and also when an existing customer would log into the application after a new release went live, they would be greeted with the page on the left. Far from an inspiring first impression. So I took it upon myself to redesign the page into something that gets people excited to jump in and see what’s new.

The new product shots not only provide some relief from the onslaught of text, but will also serve as a visual reminder of what’s new when using the app later on. Also, Arena has some strong branding imagery used in the marketing of its new releases (courtesy of the talented Jay Ferracane) and it just made sense to integrate that here.

Some design highlights include some pretty drastic improvements to readability, thanks to a healthy amount of whitespace and a baseline grid. It’s also very flexible, with images that scale with the width of the page (shrink your browser to see).
